Conference on Consecrated Life 2014

Angel Ochagavia, cmf - Tue, Apr 15th 2014

We are inviting you, and other members of your community, to a two day conference on “Church and Consecrated Life as envisioned by Pope Francis” to be held on the 24th and 25th JUNE, in Hayes.

It is not only a conference but also an encounter of all those in different forms of Consecrated Life where we will be listening to and also questioning Archbishop Jose Rodriguez Carballo, Secretary of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life in Rome in his first visit to the UK. Arch. Jose R. Carballo was the first important appointment of Pope Francis. They know each other well and he will be able to share with us what is in the heart of Pope Francis regarding the Church and our life as followers of Christ in Consecrated Life.

As you can see in the enclosed brochure, besides Archbishop Jose R. Carballo, OFM, we will be helped in our reflection by several experienced speakers: Br. James A. Boner OFM Cap; Sr. Kate Stogdon RC; Fr. José Cristo Rey Garcia, CMF; Sr. Barbara Claire, SBVM and Miss Mary Leavy. They represent different forms of Consecrated Life.

The Conference, in consultation with CoR of England and Wales, is being organised by the Claretian Missionaries, who maintain in several countries Institutes for Consecrated Life: Rome, Madrid, Manila, Bangalore and new ones in Argentina and Nigeria.

Hayes, the place for the Conference, is very accessible from London Paddington Train Station, from central London.

If you need accommodation for one or two nights, especially if you do not have a community of your congregation in London, you can check online for nearby B&B, and hotels (there are plenty of them since Heathrow is so near).  If you want us to help find accommodation, you can let us know when you send your Registration Form.

We would like you to register as soon as possible, no later than the 25th May. This will help us to prepare better and make the Conference a success. Sharing now as brothers and sisters our present  hopes and worries, our plans and ideas will help us to find out what could be God’s plan for the Consecrated Life in our country and continent at the present moment of our Church and the world. We would be delighted to have you with us.

On behalf of the Claretian Missionaries,

Fr. Angel Ochagavia, cmf
