Saint Peter Julian Eymard

Let me tell you about Peter Julian (Pierre-Julien) Eymard. He was born in Savoy in 1811 and ordained a priest in 1834. He was a great devotee of the sacrament of the altar and founded the Congregation of the Eucharistines in Paris in 1856. The female branch of the order was founded in 1858, which was a very exciting time! He passed away in his hometown on August 1, 1868. Ten years later, his body was laid to rest in the Corpus Christi Church in Paris.
