The Annunciation
Isaiah gives us the prophecy about the Virgin giving birth to Emmanuel which means God is with us. He will become present among us. Luke tells us of the Annunciation when Mary said ‘yes’ to becoming the mother of Jesus. She made an act of faith and trust in God, for she did not realise fully what she was undertaking. He ‘yes’ lasted all through her life and ministry. She is our mother also and will intercede with her Son for us if we ask her. Do I say yes to God’s wishes for me?
