Commentary on the Gospel of
“Lord Teach us to pray.” This request of the disciples shows that they had a desire to pray like Jesus, or they experienced in the prayer of Jesus something different from their own style of praying as Jews. How often do we pray? St. Paul would say ‘pray without ceasing’. Is it possible with our busy life styles, with lot of things to do? Yes, it is possible if we make our every act with a prayer. If we come across a poor person, pray in silence for all the poor people in the world. When meeting a sick person, pray for all the sick, when we find somebody who resembles one of our acquaintances, pray for both of them including the one who reminded us of our acquaintance. In simple ways like this we can pray the whole day.
