With the example of the healing on Sabbath day Jesus teaches us something very important in our journey towards God. He tells us that there is not a special time to be saved other than today. He teaches us that God acts in his own time and manner. Jesus healed the woman who was crippled for 18 years. So we have no reason to think, if we are sick for some time or have prayed for some time and he has not answered us, of giving up our love for God. We are to wait for the time of God to give us his favour and we have nothing to merit it as the women in question had not merited it either. Let us keep in mind that God is God and so with our human intellect it is difficult to understand Him or He should act like us humans to please others.
