Commentary on the Gospel of
One of the sins that Jesus considers gravest is the sin of hypocrisy because it stands against everything that signifies honest love of God and neighbor. For this reason, he warns his audience against this sin. One thing that has always plagued the Church historically is this sin where a good portion of what we preach has nothing to do with how we live. The most current is the sin of paedophilia among the clergy. We Christians should work hard in living and being what we preach because the leaven of hypocrisy when it spreads, it eats up the Church like a cancer.
