Commentary on the Gospel of

Fr. George Vayaliparampil, cmf

We celebrate the feast of St. Luke. In the first reading we hear that St. Paul telling that only Luke is with him. From the letters of Paul and from his own writings we know of Luke as a faithful servant of the Word of God. The last words of the first reading say that ‘the Lord was with me giving strength to proclaim the Word fully’. Luke made known to us the salvific work of Jesus and the history of the Early Christians. For sure he had to undergo many trials and tribulations. But he underwent all of these for spreading the Word and the Kingdom of God. So as we celebrate the feast of one of strong followers of Christ let us try to imitate the life of St. Luke.
