Commentary on the Gospel of
The first reading reminds us of God’s special presence among us, in Christ Jesus who in the Gospel undertakes a special task of gathering his disciples. The sequence of events is worthy of note. After John the precursor had been arrested, he began preaching and calling people to repentance. He then calls certain men to share in his ministry. And in both instances, they left everything and followed him.
Jesus needs me, he needs you. He needs your hand, time, energy talent and resources for the spread of the good news. What is your response?
