Two priests with strong ties to Egypt have said they fear young Egyptian Catholics will turn away from the Church because it did not back the protests that led to the resignation of President Hosni Mubarak.
China’s official Xinhua News Agency quoted a spokesperson of the State Administration for Religious Affairs as saying the Vatican misunderstood the current situation of the Chinese Church and was trying to use religion to implement its political values.

It makes a passionate appeal to approach the Scriptures, never forgetting "that the foundation of all authentic Christian spirituality is the living Word of God proclaimed, host, celebrated and pondered in the Church."
